The Pi-oneers will also appear at King’s Supermarket in Hillsdale this Saturday, July 24 and Sunday July 25 from 9 am to 4 pm.

On Tuesday, June 8th at 7:30 PM the Pi-oneers will be recognized at the Hillsdale, NJ Mayor and Council meeting. Come to city hall to support the Pi-oneers for this very special occasion.

2010 Curie Finalists

The 2010 FIRST Championships was an eventful and positive one for the Pi-oneers. For the last time, the Pi-oneers would go to Atlanta, GA for the Championships, and it did not disappoint. The team went 9-1 in qualification rounds and ended seeded 4th out of 86. They went on to join the 3rd seeded alliance (with 1986, 888, and later 1421) and would become finalists for their division, the Curie division.

Although the competition season is now over for the Pi-oneers, the season never really ends as they will go to and participate in Memorial Day Parade(s), off-season competitions, and close the season with their annual Team Picnic in June. The Pi-oneers now look forward to the 2011 season where they hope to improve on this successful season and beyond!

Virginia Regional Champs!

Congratulations go out to the entire team for winning their second regional this year and in team history! Thanks go out to Teams 1086 and 1418 for being excellent alliance partners! Also an amazing job was done by our drive team (Dan and Jeff Huber, Danny Timpanaro, and Eric DelSanto) who went undefeated throughout the entire tournament (and the only team to do so).

Additionally, the team took home the Industrial Design Award sponsored by General Motors.

The team looks forward to the FIRST Championship in Atlanta, GA where they will compete against teams from around the world for the 2010 Breakaway Championship!

New Jersey Regional Champs!

Huge thanks go out to Teams 25 (Captain) and 3059 for helping us take home our first Regional Championship in team history. You guys were fabulous and we can’t wait to see you in Atlanta! Thanks also go out to the entire drive team (Dan and Jeff Huber, Eric DelSanto, and Bill Giraud) for their awesome game play on the field!

In addition to winning the competition, the team was very successful in other areas. The team took home the Entrepreneurship Award sponsored by Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers and team member Ethan Hayon was a Dean’s list finalist. Congratulations also go out to the Non-Tech subteam, and leader Danielle Fischer who wrote these two essays and made it all possible!

Congratulations also go out to former team member and CEO Elizabeth Rosalia (MIT) who was named a member of the 2010 NJ FIRST Hall of Fame!

As a special request from Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST, the entire FIRST community is being asked to take a pledge to bring new attendees to the FRC Regional Competitions this season. Robot functions are complete

All robot functions have been installed on our “Flight bot” and the programming subteam is now in command of our build season.

We also lifted our Flight bot on the tower using the final-form hook and winch assembly!

Thanks to all the robot build subteams for doing a fine job on this year’s bot.
