Strategy

“What do you want to achieve or avoid? The answers to this question are objectives. How will you go about achieving your desired results? The answer to this you can call strategy.” - William E Rothschild

Regardless of how great a team's objectives are, it cannot win on that alone. To be successful, teams need a strategy. In this case, it can directly affect how successful a team is. The Strategy Sub-Team has the most influence over the main design of the robot. Consisting of roughly ten students and no mentors, we meet a few times every week during our meal times to discuss the importance of specific game strategies and robot capabilities. Because of this, we have arguably the largest influence on the robot’s design, and therefore its overall potential performance in a competitive environment.

In addition to the game and robot strategy, we work directly with the Information Technology Sub-Team to discuss and prioritize a list of what to look out for when scouting robot matches.

Tips for beginners: Keep an open mind and watch matches from previous years to get ideas for potential strategies.

Leader: Mike K. and Ryan S.
